The French-German documentary Nos Amours / UNSERE LIEBEN follows a dozen characters whose individual and fragmented stories develop and grow into a collective narrative. How do 18-35-year olds live and love today?
The film is a snapshot of our time; an intimate and personal illustration of matters of love in this generation. A slow and gentle observation of the discussions around polyamory, non-exclusivity and fluidity, spanning numerous genres of love.
We meet Valentin and Zelda, a monogamous couple who have reunited following several years of polyamory but who now question the meaning and relevance of exclusive relationships. We meet Élise, who after many setbacks in the digital realm is attempting to conquer love on her own terms. We cross the path of Leo and Valeria, two transsexual people guided by an extremely heterogeneous concept of a love affair, and of Sophie, whose love finds its form in a self-chosen family that is manifested above all in ballroom culture.
Taking a tender approach, French director Chloé Bruhat and German director Sascha Quade give voice to the experiments, discoveries, joys, disappointments and transgressions of a young generation that is questioning the codes of love.
A co-production with arte & SWR on the plurality of sexual relationships, shown in late 2020 as part of the ilesttemps / Es wird Zeit! season. A BASIS Berlin Film Production
